The members of the Rochdale Village Department of Public Safety are committed to delivering quality services in response to our community's diverse needs. We recognize our responsibility to protect life and property, prevent crime, enforce laws and improve the quality of life for all residents of the community. Additional Coverage is also provided by the 113th Precinct of the NYPD.
The Rochdale Power Plant provides heating, electrical and air conditioning services to the entire cooperative independent of Con Edison. The structure is virtually off the grid. It was the first of its kind in the world when it was created in 1963. Boilers and electrical systems are constantly upgraded to reduce carbon foot print on the environment and provide green energy efficiency for the community.
