The Rochdale Jewel Café serves nutritious lunches daily as part of the supportive services for adults 60 years and older who are residents of Rochdale Village and the surrounding areas.

The Community Garden is restricted to Rochdale Village residents because planting plots are limited.  The garden is run by the Rochdale Urban Gardeners, known for their green thumbs and their annual fundraiser.  Interested parties should check community calendar for updates on membership.


Green space refers to any area that is covered in grass, trees, shrubs, or other vegetation like the parks and community gardens, found here in Rochdale Village.



Parking is limited, interested cooperators may take the following steps to be added to the waiting list.

They may visit the management office to apply in person for parking or print the request forms from the website under forms.  

Rochdale Village Academy

Programs for youth are offered Monday – Friday afternoons and Saturday

Licensed School Aged Childcare is provided by the Spirit of Excellence after School Program

Rochdale Village Senior Center

The Rochdale Village Community Center is a multi-facetted, multi-service center, serving the social, cultural, recreational and educational needs of the Rochdale Village community and its surrounding neighbors.

Rochdale Village has two shopping malls, Mall #1 and Mall #2. Both Shopping Centers have a variety of stores to cater to the needs of it's more than 5,000 cooperators.

Naturally Occurring Retirement Community

Rochdale’s Power Plant provides heating, electrical and air conditioning services to the entire cooperative independent of Con Edison. The structure is virtually off the grid. It was the first of its kind in the world when it was created in 1963. Boilers and electrical systems are constantly upgraded to reduce carbon foot print on the environment and provide green energy efficiency for the community.

The Queens Library provides free access to print, audio-visual, and electronic resources based on community needs.
